“There are a lot of voters in Virginia who have played by the rules, gotten their vaccines and tried to minimize the impact of Covid,” said Stephen Farnsworth, a political science professor at the University of Mary Washington. “If things start to get bad in schools in the next few weeks it’s going to be bad for anyone who is lite on Covid protections.”
