
Stephen Farnsworth, a professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, acknowledged political movements built mainly on protest tend to burn hot but blow themselves out fairly quickly. But that doesn’t appear to be the case with Trump in the White House.
“One of the things that is unusual is an energized movement staying around for more than one election cycle. The anger of 2017 was on full display in 2018 as well,” he said.
