“This is a preliminary opinion going back to February, so it tells us that at that moment there were five votes to overrule the Roe v. Wade decision nearly fifty years ago that legalized abortion nationally,” said Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia.
