Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington talked about his book, [The Nightly News Nightmare: Media Coverage of U.S. Presidential Elections, 1988-2008], which he co-authored with Professor S. Robert Lichter of George Mason University. In the book, the authors examine news coverage of presidential nominations and election campaigns from 1988 to 2008. The book focuses on changes in the amount, tone and focus of news coverage in these different electoral contests. This interview took place at C-SPAN in Washington, D.C. C-SPAN's Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their "2013 LCV Cities Tour" in Fredericksburg, Virginia from August 12-16 to feature the history and literary life of the community.
