Stephen J. Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, said it is “astonishing” that Morrissey hasn’t resigned already — and that there wasn’t more of an immediate reaction from Democrats demanding he resign his seat.
“The odds are not great that he is able to stay in office; the House has the ability to remove him,” Farnsworth said. “It seems highly likely that there will be a conversation about expelling him if he doesn’t resign.”
