Partisan supporters had repeatedly heckled and laughed as candidates answered. Moderator Stephen Farnsworth, a professor at UMW, paused the proceedings here.
“I want to remind all of you that you need to be neighborly to the people who want to hear this debate,” he said. “Your comments can disturb the people next to you who want to hear the answer.”
