Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington in Virginia, who studies the presidency, said that the committee had collected an immense amount of evidence in support of its recommendation that the former president face charges over his efforts to subvert the ratification of Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.
