Stephen J. Farnsworth, a professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, said the new felony charges in connection with the filing of allegedly fraudulent court documents will give the legislature more ammunition in arguments for expelling their unwanted colleague.
“The voters who reinstated Morrissey to the legislature last week did so before these latest charges became public, and it is an open question if they would have supported Morrissey had they known what was coming down the pipe a week later,” Farnsworth said.
