“To me, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for any Republican seeking the Republican nomination to say anything that could potentially be seen as ageist. The reality is that the vast majority of Republican voters are going to skew in the older direction,” said Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington.
