“She is better known across Virginia than most members of Congress would be,” said Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington. The old Seventh District was stretched between the suburbs of Richmond and the suburbs of Fredericksburg, while the new Seventh District is concentrated in Northern Virginia.
