Political Science Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington said that House Republicans will regret the decision to eject Rep. Cheney from the party leadership’s for failing to support the false claims by former President Trump that the 2020 election was stolen. Rep. Cheney will likely become even more critical of the continuing pro-Trump direction of the party now that she is not in the party’s House leadership, Farnsworth said.
