“When we live in a time of such high levels of citizen discontent with politics, with citizen frustration with government officials, this story is exactly what makes so many Americans so mad about the special treatment that they think politicians are able to enjoy,” said Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington.
