Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington in Virginia said that the latest incidents of gun violence in Colorado and Georgia are not likely to lead to significant changes in gun laws. Mass-casualty attacks by lone gunmen occur with some regularity in the US, and Congress has done little in response, Farnsworth said.
