Virginians have gotten used to being at the center of the action in presidential election years: The state’s 13 Electoral College votes were among the most aggressively contested in both 2008 and 2012. But the selection of U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine as the Democratic Party’s 2016 vice presidential nominee may mean we won’t be pursued so intensely this fall.
