“Incumbent governors and lieutenant governors and attorneys general would normally be building up crowds, helping campaign and raise money for the Democratic Party,” says Stephen Farnsworth, Professor of Political Science at the University of Mary Washington. “They’re going to be effectively sidelined because of these scandals.”
