Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington in Virginia said that President Trump's poll numbers have been sliding because of a concern among growing numbers of Americans that the president has not handled Covid-19 effectively. With the election still more than three months away, the president has the opportunity to turn around his sagging re-election fortunes, Farnsworth said.
