“Normally, when senators and delegates are from the same party, the member of the House waits for the senator to retire than challenge directly,” Farnsworth said. “This decision speaks volumes about how difficult Democrats find life in the minority in the House of Delegates, when somebody who has been here for just a couple of months is ready to take the next step.”
