Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Wasington in Virginia said that former President Trump commands considerable loyalty among Republicans, and that loyalty will make him an influential voice as Republicans select their party's nominees in the 2022 midterm elections.

Stephen Farnsworth Stephen J. Farnsworth is Professor Emeritus of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Mary Washington. Dr. Farnsworth is the author or co-author of nine books on the presidency, the mass media, public opinion and journalism. He also has received the Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
