Professor Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, said that Twitter has been a great mechanism for President Trump to focus on matters he wants to emphasize, but the brief format does not do much to provide sound policy debate or promote the use of evidence on contentious issues. Farnsworth's new book is titled, "Presidential Communication and Character: White House News Management from Clinton and Cable to Twitter and Trump."
