Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington said that Friday’s decision by President Trump to ease trade tariffs with Canada makes a great deal of sense as the president seeks to increase the trade pressure on China. Trump’s decision may also lead to more rapid acceptance of the revised North American Free Trade Agreement, Farnsworth said.
