Present were: Anand Rao, professor of communication and director of the Speaking Intensive Program; John Morello, associate provost, former debate coach and scholar on presidential debates; Stephen Farnsworth, political science professor and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies; Jessy Ohl, assistant professor of communication specializing in political speech; Craig Smith, a former presidential speechwriter, professor emeritus at California State University-Long Beach and a former director of the school’s First Amendment Studies Center, who is on campus to debate Farnsworth and to lecture; and Stefan Bauschard, a debate coach who works with the National Speech and Debate Association.
