Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington said that Republicans desperately need a “pivot” from likely presidential nominee Donald Trump, who has failed to move beyond the aggressive personal attacks that marked his primary campaign. The more moderate voters who will decide the election in November do not share the anger that so many Republicans felt this spring, Farnsworth said.
