University of Mary Washington Political Science Professor Stephen Farnsworth said that the newly redrawn legislative districts that will be contested in 2023 are more favorable lines for the Democrats than the lines drawn after the 2010 Census. For both Democrats and Republicans there will be some new districts that are home to more than one incumbent, Farnsworth said.
