Professor Stephen Farnsworth of the University of Mary Washington said that the costs of firing Defense Secretary James Mattis would be high for President Trump, given the great respect Mattis has on Capitol Hill. The Trump administration has a shortage of top offiicals who are well-regarded by members of Congress, Farnsworth said.
